Export a diagram

Choose the right scope and format to deliver your diagram as a file.

Before you start

Open the diagram to export. Current diagram and Entire project have different scopes. Check the menu for format-specific plan restrictions.

Steps

  1. Choose the export scope

    Open File → Export. Choose whether to export the current diagram or the whole project, including its detail flows.

  2. Choose a suitable format

    Select an available format for your purpose. PDF or PNG works for viewing; check the data formats if you need editable project data.

  3. Inspect the downloaded file

    Open the downloaded file and check text, arrows, and whether the required detail diagrams are included.

Check your result

The file is in your download location and contains the diagram scope and readable text you need.

If something goes wrong

If details are missing, check whether you exported only the current diagram. If no file appears, check your browser's downloads and any in-app error. Wait for rendering to finish before trying again.

Common questions

How do PNG, PDF, and JSON differ?

PNG is suitable for inserting an image, PDF for distributing a document, and JSON for retaining editable data. Check available formats in the menu.

The file has no detail flows

Check whether you exported only the current diagram. Select an entire-project format if required.
