Steps
Open the parent step's details
Find the parent row in Table and use the create-detail control in Details. If a detail flow already exists, use the view/edit-detail control to open it.
Actual screen: follow the Check details row marked in red, then click the red-boxed layers icon (Create Sub-flow) in the Details column. Scroll the table horizontally if the column is hidden. What to checkYou selected the Check details row, not another row.
Add and connect child steps
Add rows in the detail table and set Content and Next Step. Use the breadcrumb to confirm you are editing the detail level.
Actual screen: opening Check details and viewing its child steps in the table and diagram. Watch the actual steps
The red box marks where to act or check. Silent video with captions. Video data loads when you press play. The written steps above cover the same operation.
What to checkChild names and connections are correct.
Return to the parent
Choose the parent level in the breadcrumb to return to the overview. Check that the parent step is still there.
What to checkThe breadcrumb is back at Root and the parent step remains.
Reopen the details
Reopen that step's details, confirm your smaller tasks are still there, and save.
What to checkThe child steps are still present.
Check your result
You can move between the overview and the detail flow without removing the parent step.
If something goes wrong
If you open the wrong detail flow, check the row and its ID. If a generic-ID warning appears, follow the in-app guidance to use an identifiable ID. Returning to the parent is different from deleting details: use the breadcrumb to go back.
Common questions
The details icon is faint
A detail flow that has not been created uses a faint layers icon. Match its row and column, then check its Create Sub-flow tooltip.
Child steps disappeared from the overview
The overview and detail flow are separate levels. Open the parent step's details to check the child steps.
