Create, revise, and discuss diagrams with AI chat
Describe your process, review the generated diagram, and request specific changes. Use Advice Only when you want feedback without changing the diagram.

Before you start
Sign in and open a practice diagram. Check the AI credit balance, who pays (you or your organization), and your editing permission. Advice also uses AI credits.
Steps
Check the AI panel and credits
Open the AI panel using the icon at the top left. Check that the input is enabled and the credit balance and payer are displayed. For a request about a detail flow, open that detail first and check the breadcrumb.
Actual screen: open chat with the AI icon at the top left. Check the balance in the AI header and the credit payer above the input. What to checkThe input is enabled, and you know the credit payer and current diagram level.
Describe the work and exceptions
Describe the start, finish, main steps, and exceptions. For example: ‘Map Receive → Review details → Complete. Add a return-for-correction branch when information is missing.’ You can also choose a sample task and adapt its text. Choosing a sample fills the input; it does not send it.
Actual screen: an unsent AI request. Red boxes mark the input and send icon at its bottom right. The diagram is a manually entered practice sample. What to checkYour text includes the start, finish, and branch conditions. The image shows an unsent draft.
Send and answer follow-up questions
Send using the icon at the bottom right of the input, or press Enter. Use Shift+Enter for a new line. Answer any follow-up questions about roles or decision conditions. Wait for the response; use Cancel to stop waiting for a generation.
What to checkYour message appears in the conversation and you have answered the relevant questions.
Turn the conversation into a diagram
Once you have provided enough information, if it has not yet become a diagram, turn Advice Only off and choose Create Flow Now. This button uses the conversation, so send any draft instructions first. It is disabled before the conversation starts and while Advice Only is on.
What to checkYou have sent the necessary instructions and Advice Only is off.
Review and request a correction
Review both the response and the diagram. Check step names, arrows, conditions, and detail levels. Ask for a focused correction, such as ‘Connect Review details to Return for correction only when information is missing.’ You can also make small changes in the table.
What to checkYou checked the diagram's steps and arrows as well as the AI response.
Ask for advice without changes
Turn Advice Only on to ask for feedback without changing the diagram. For example: ‘Review details takes the most time. Suggest three things to examine without changing the diagram.’ Advice refers to the currently open diagram level. Turn the switch off to return to creating or revising diagrams.
Actual screen: Advice Only is on and the question is an unsent draft. Red boxes mark the switch and input. What to checkAdvice Only is on and the intended diagram level is open.
Check accuracy and saving
Compare the proposal with how the work actually happens and decide which changes to adopt. If AI updated the diagram, check whether its automatic save succeeded. Resolve any save error or unsaved state before closing the page.
What to checkYou checked AI-added assumptions and there is no unresolved save error.
Check your result
The diagram matches the requested steps and conditions, and you can distinguish advice from diagram changes. You have checked the save state and the assumptions added by AI.
If something goes wrong
If you cannot send, check for an empty input, the 1,000-character limit, an active generation, login, credits, and editing permission. Use the on-screen retry action for a balance-fetch error. If Create Flow Now is disabled, send a message first and turn Advice Only off.
Common questions
Is Advice Only free of credit usage?
Advice is also a request to AI. Check the balance and payer before sending. This is different from viewing existing time and cost inputs in Analytics.
Why does my AI diagram differ from the example?
Layout and step counts can vary. Judge the result by whether its steps, conditions, roles, and hierarchy match your process. Describe any missing condition explicitly.
